-Mimmi

Sirena leads up all the way near to land, but instead of us being on a beach dunes, we then divert into an underwater cave, in which emerges into a pool, surrounds by land-made dug out cave. We surface into the mini pool water, looking around at out new surroundings.
“What is this place?” Ondina started looking around.
I could see Sirena on the opposite side of the pool.
“Somewhere safe.” She stated.
I then turned to face her.
“Is the boy here?” I asked
“No.” her reply was instant.
I looked over her shoulder to see her removing her moon ring from her right hand and then placing it on the edge of the pool. I was about to open my mouth in protest.
“There’s something you need before you meet him.” She turned back to us.
I was about to open my mouth again, what could we possibly need to meet a simple land-boy…we could just swim up to where ever he is, have a ‘very’ serious conversation, take his powers and ‘boom’ jobs done.
But now Sirena had another trick as she hoisted herself out of the pool water, then dragging herself to a pair of steps to which she sucked in her tail spine, flipped over and began to evaporate the water off her tail.
Was she nuts, this action would kill her?
But I was proven wrong as a few seconds later a bright flash emerged from her tail as her being was covered in water and it split in a peach coloured stilts…but it got even weirder as she had covering over her body.
She then casually strolled back to the edge of the pool, bent down and picked up her ring, slipping it back on her finger.
I turned to Ondina and then back to Sirena.
“Legs?” I asked in horror.
“If you’re going to talk to Zac then you’ve got to get them too.” Sirena stated.
We just both looked at each other in horror.
“You can’t be serious? Can’t we just swim up to him and talk?” Ondina suggested.
Sirena sighed and placed her hands on her hips.
“Don’t you remember the first law of being a mermaid?” she sighed.
I shot my hand up in a tease.
“Never reveal your true self to land-people.” I answered.
“So, you see….it’s a huge risk that not only Zac will see but other land people.”
“But, didn’t you also say that one of Zac’s friends stole the trident from him? Was he land boy as well?” I shot out remembering her short story.
Sirena put her hand behind her head then looked towards us.
“Yes, from what Zac said he was jealous of his friend, Zac powers…so on the night of the full moon he entered the moon pool, from where Zac fell the first time he got his powers; with the trident in hand, lucky thing my and the girls had figured out his plan and stopped him…but our moon rings weren’t enough, good thing Zac showed up when he did otherwise our power source would be gone.” Sirena explained in depth, while she was explaining I and Ondina swam closer to her.
We both couldn’t believe our ears; a land-boy saved our moon pool.
“B-but how could you know, for all we know the trident could of mess with your head.” Ondina protested not believing a single word she said.
“Ondina, this is straight from the sharks mouth…maybe she does have a point, Zac could just be a harmless dolphin for all we know.” I spoke up.
Ondina glared at me.

“See, your story is even affect the younger minds-“ Ondina began
“ENOUGH!” Sirena yelled before this was going to get into a full blown fight. “Look, do you want to talk to Zac or not?”
The answer to that was simple, and yet told straight forward.
“We want to talk to the land boy.” Ondina admitted slowly.
I could see Sirena smirking like she’s won us over.
“Now, get your fish butt onto land…and then we can begin your land life.” She explained stepping aside.
“You’re making it sound like we’ll be here a while.” I stated as I looked up at her.
Sirena didn’t answer my query as she then further urged us to get onto land; I then finally caved as I then volunteered to go first. I got down into the same position as Sirena was in before, crouching up my elbows before doing a huge push up onto the cold land. Once I was on land it was now Ondina’s turn as she did the same thing as me, she only took half the time as I did.
When we were on the cold land we looked up to Sirena was standing above up.
“What the heck is this cold stuff? I can’t even place my tummy on this without it freezing” I quizzed
“I think it’s called concrete, land people use to this to build roads, building, houses and a whole lot of other things.” Sirena explained. “Okay, now take off your rings.”
“What? How the heck does our ring get us legs?” Ondina quizzed.
Sirena smirked “Just you wait and see.”
I sighed and nudged Ondina who then sighed as she removed her ring as I did as well.
“Now what?” I asked.
“Now place them at a distance in front of you, you’ve got is focus your powers to imagine yourself with these.” Sirena explained showing us her legs. “This will require a lot of attention, so really concentrate and I do mean it.”
I sighed as placed my ring as Sirena instructed, and I stretched out my right hand, closing my eyes as I could feel my powers as a mermaid and combining it with my tail to turn it into land-people legs.
After 2 attempts I suddenly could feel a there was something inside my tail’s muscles that that was wiggling around like a sea snake itching to get out; then that sensation became real as then my tail ripped itself into 2, then I tried to flap my tail but instead I could feel the weight of 2 tails rather than 1…I looked back to see myself completely without a merging tail but 2 peach coloured feet and peach colour lump merging them to the rest of me.

“W-what the-“ I began almost coming to scream my lungs out.
I then turned to look up at Sirena as she knelt down to my level.
“Congratulations, you now have land-people legs.” Sirena announced as she extended her hands towards me.
I took her hands with both of mine, as I then tried to get my stupid ‘legs’ to move as my left magically moved forwards and then my right came as well; soon I found myself in the same positon as Sirena kneeling on the cold ‘concrete’ again, the coldness of it was touching my being and I was almost frozen to the touch.
“H-how the heck do you move these….things?!” I shouted
Sirena smiled sweetly.
“It will take time, don’t fight it, and learn from them.” She explained. “Now for Ondina, you just need to sit here…I’ll run upstairs to find you some clothes.”
“Some, what?” I quizzed confused
“Clothes, like what I got on….cause I can tell you now land people don’t walk around outside without these.” Sirena explained giving them a tug.
I looked down at my being; my medium length dark brown hair was covering the top half of my chest and the rest was nothing but peach colour with a slight brown colour.
“What do you call this?” I asked pinching my arm and legs.
“Skin, it’s like what we have when were mermaids.” Sirena explained holding onto the side of stairs.

“W-wait.” Ondina called out. “How do I do this?”
Sirena looked back.
“Do the same way Mimmi did, use the ring in combination of your powers and ‘remember’ to really focus.” Sirena reminder her and then disappeared up the stairs.
Ondina just looked at me in horror as I just could only sit there with no ‘clothes’ on. Ondina still had her tail with her crinkled hair almost drying off coming over her shoulders.
“Help me.” She whispered with a horror look in her eyes.
I wrapped her ‘arms’ around my body trying to cover most of myself.
“Like Sirena said, you need to concentrate.” I explained.
Ondina then licked her salted lips as she then closed her eyes and doing the exact samething I was doing, controlling her breathing and cogenerating her magic on the ring. And I can happily say after 3 attempts her tail vanished into water and into the same legs like mine (but her skin was lighter and bit more paler than mine); and also she was naked with her dusty blonde wavy hair covering same length of her body like mine. With a bit of guidance from my talking, she did finally get into the same position as me.
And all we could do was just sit there and wait for Sirena to return with some ‘clothes’ for us to ‘wear’

After waiting, waiting, Sirena did come down with an armful of ‘clothes’….she tried all different ‘styles’ (as she plainly put it); at first she tried my in a summer white top with ¾ brown jeans (I frown looking down at myself, this does not bold well), Sirena then ‘stripped’ off my clothes and then tried on at least 5 more ‘outfits’; until we were both satisfied with my choice. A Black with white flowered patterned dress with a white strip over the both ‘shoulder’s’ to the bottom of the dress…and she handed me a pair of black ‘shoes’.
“Why these?” waving my feet around with the ‘shoes’ on
“Well if you want to meet Zac, there is a risk that you could get splashed.” Sirena explained trying to pull me to my feet.
“Wait, ‘splashed’?”
“Yeah when we are land-people, any water hits us we get our tails back…we only have legs when we’re dry.” She continued.
‘Make sense.’ I thought.
When Sirena finally pulled me to my feet, I was so unstable…almost falling back over until she caught me by the hand and gave me an amount of water to hold myself up and get use to my legs until she sorted Ondina out.
And of course after a few tries with Ondina she did finally manage to find her an outfit at goes well with her ‘wild’ hair, a: pink thick sleeved singlets, a light blue short jeans with the same shoes as mine but with green colour.
“Perfect….man I should defiantly be a mermaid land-clothes chooser.” She announced with a sense of pride.
I looked at her with a confused look and then to Ondina who was still on the floor.
Sirena then manged to pull her to her feet and positioned her like me.

“Okay, follow me….I’ll help you, as you would need to get use to your legs before you meet Zac.” Sirena cautioned.
My eyes widen, so the longer we waste on the learner level…the stronger and more dangerous the boy could be. My eyes meet with Ondina who was behind me struggling just as much to hold herself up right.
“We need to practise.” I explained desperate.
Ondina nodded as she followed my lead I moved my left leg first, shuffled my hands along the wall and then my right leg follow…we kept on repeating the process until we reached the stairs leading up.
“Ookay, now what?” I asked completely clueless.
Sirena looked back.
“Lift your legs more than you did before, a bit more higher.” She explained as she waited for us at the top.
I sighed heavily, with more determination…the sooner we master these ‘legs’ the sooner we can talk to the boy and get rid of them.

After few tries we made it to the top, walking into another section of the cave, it was very open…I noticed a theme to the cave, it was fish stuff shells, fishing net, coral, and almost you name it this cave has it. After the small entrance of the cave I was open ended with now walls for us to lean on.
“Sirena, a bit of help.” I stated as I pushed myself of the wall and tried to balance on my legs wobbling like a jellyfish.
Sirena smiled as she offered her hands out, each of us taking a hand each as we both ascended the stairs, me first then Ondina in tow.
“I don’t understand…how land people on these stupid things.” Ondina stated swapping from hand to hand with both me and Sirena as we tried to ascend the steps.
We nearly reached the bottom as I took a leap from the bottom and reached the floor with a smile and pride as a mermaid…it was merely impossible for a mermaid to come on land, without a very good reason.
I looked around our new environment, it was so obvious of our surrounds of who lives in this place.
“A mermaid lives here.” I announce.
“Her name is Rita, she’s a friend.” Sirena explains.
I was about to smile and yet frown one of our kind lives on land. But then something white popped out from the table it was not like anything I’ve seen. I could only watch it on horror as it stared at us with those eyes. It made a noise and we both screamed.
“Cat!” I could hear Ondina scream
I turned to run, but Ondina ran smack into me in which caused me to fall straight back on my butt, again. We both shuffled out body and our feet to move away from it.
Sirena however didn’t seem to mind it and she walked over us and went to pick it up. Meanwhile I used the table close by to lift my wobbling legs back up right.
“Hey, Poseidon…I’ve missed you.” She was talking in a strange sweet voice as she went to pick up the ‘cat’ and turned back to face us.
“He won’t hurt you…Poseidon is a friend, like Zac.” She explained as she used her finger to stroke her fur.
But Ondina and I could only watch with widen eyes, how the heck can se be-friend such an animal. She then placed the cat on the table where it just sat there starring at us with it sea blue eyes and stroked it some more before standing up straight.
“Where’s the boy?” Ondina demanded
“You do realise that land people are different.” She answered avoiding the question with ease.
How could land people be any different from mermaids, besides the fact of them having legs and us having tails?
“Look, just follow my lead; and try not to anything to stand out.” She explained.
I however was constantly staring at the cat, which was still looking at me face-to-face.
“We’ll fit in just fine.” Ondina spoke up.
“Really?! How the heck are we supposed to fit in when we look like a couple of hatchlings still learning to use our tails?” I exclaimed to Ondina.
Sirena smirked.
“Well, land people have a complete different way of talking-speaking, walking, body language and so much more then what we mermaids have.” Sirena explained fingering each difference. “So for example in our world we can us just swim up to the nearest person and talk like long lost friends…in this world you can’t each person is a complete stranger who some won’t even bother to talk to you unless you show or demonstrate trust.”
Ondina and I just sat and listened to her explaination.
“Whoa, how long did it take you to figure that?” I quizzed thirsty for more knowledge.
“A while, especially a day after we got kicked out of our pod…but we had a great teacher and mentor who taught us almost everything we needed to know about land people and how they work.” Sirena admitted with a smile.

“So, you ready to meet Zac yet? Gotten used to working your legs?” she asked noticing us as my legs were still wobbly like jelly.
I had to lean against the stairs to hold myself up right.
“Y-yeah, were ready.” I stated pushing myself off the stairs.
Sirena giggle.
“You don’t look like it…fine, follow me if you’re that sure; and just follow my lead.” She warned.
We both nodded as we followed her out of the cavern with our still wobbling but yet slowly getting use to legs.
Outside was a whole new world, from outside the house we could see a perfect view of the deep blue ocean.
“If you say a mermaid lives here, the why did she come onto land?” I asked starting to walk more normally.
“It’s kind of a long story.” She stated a bit nervous.
“We’ve got time.” Ondina queued.
Sirena sighed.
“I don’t know the exact story, but she got kick out a pod….i guess when she couldn’t find any place to call home, she settled on land, going by her life style she was very happy about it. But from what she told us she fell in love, with a land-boy.” She explained.
My mouth fell open.
“Seriously? That’s against every mermaid law there is…even for an exiled mermaid.” Ondina protested.
“How the heck did the land-boy say to her being a mermaid?” I quizzed not caring about the laws.
“I don’t really know that part either, but from what I can gather she willing showed her form to him…in the cave it showed a photo of her and her soon-be-husband.” Sirena continued on. “But when we found her out, she said that he died before they even got married.”
A tear felt into my cheek, I touched my face, why do I suddenly feel sad? It’s not like I’ve lost something that…every, before. Beside from my mother leaving me at a young age and this still growing feeling of something else of my life is missing.
“Beside the point, how could she even think of revealing herself to a land-boy and then potentially marry him?” Ondina protested throwing her hands up in the air, then turning to me. “Mimmi, why are you crying?”
I looked up to her with still a tear streaming down my cheek.
“Oh, I was just thinking?” I suddenly said quickly whipping it away.
“About you mum?”
I instantly shook my head.
“No, I was having a distance thought…that’s all.” I replied then running a bit ahead, I didn’t want to show to my best friend that I was weak.

Following Sirena down the hill and along a wooden floor that I could see the water from the ocean moving and crashing beneath into what was holding the wooden floor up. I started to tap my shoes on the floor.
“What the heck is this?” I asked.
“From what Zac has told me, it’s called a board walk….made out of large wooden board with concrete pillars to hold it up against the ocean’s tides.” Sirena explained looking over to us.
I look down a bit longer before turning my attention to back to where I was walking; then a strange place appeared before us. There were a lot of land-people sitting around eating food and drinking (not any kind of drinks that I’ve seen before).
“What is this place?” I ask.
“This is called Ocean’s a café run by a very good friend of mine and this is also where Zac sometimes hangs out as well….that’s him.” She explains and points towards a man around our age with black tight curled hair wearing a black top.
“Him?” I quizzed not really impressed
“He’s not going to be a problem.” Ondina agreed with me.
Sirena laughed a bit.
“I’ll introduce you.” She said as we started walk up to him.
Mimmi...adding in what the episode left out, like how they got they're legs and start walkin on land + Mimmi curious at almost every single detail of land life :D (LET ME TELL you is VERY hard)
